A routine live broadcast of a Mexican television variety show turned into a medical incident on stage this week.

The event occurred during an episode of the Es Show. Host Ernesto Chavana, 58, was speaking to the studio audience when he kicked a low-flying drone across the set.

The drone, with its propellers still spinning, traveled through the air and struck cast member Isabella Rojas in the face.

Production staff removed Rojas from the stage as she cried. Chavana continued presenting the program without a break.

Later, Rojas returned to the set. Chavana apologized to her directly, stating, “I’m very sorry. I take responsibility for what just happened.”

Rojas posted a video to her Instagram account showing a cut lip. She captioned the post, “Chavana will be held responsible for what happened.”

The production team has not released further details regarding disciplinary action against Chavana.

The clip spread widely on social media platforms. Online reactions were mixed. User MJB on X called Chavana a “disgusting person” who should pay for damages.

Another user, @Javier_H_F, noted that the blades could have gouged out one of the model’s eyes. On Instagram, Diego Tavares defended the host, arguing it was an accident and that he had already admitted his fault.

The incident adds to a list of on-air mishaps involving technology, but no formal investigation has been announced yet.
