The iPhone Duo is now available, but the box does not include the hardware needed for two of its primary functions. Buyers must spend an additional $249 to access full stylus support and rapid charging capabilities. The device ships with a USB-C cable, but the specific accessories required for peak performance are sold separately.

Apple Pencil compatibility marks a first for the iPhone line. The feature allows users to write notes and sketch on both the outer and inner displays. Apple stated that the design mirrors the proportions of a standard A-series paper notebook. The software update for this feature is scheduled for the iOS 27.2 release next week. Only the Apple Pencil with a USB-C connector will work. It is currently listed at $69, a reduction from its previous price of $79.

Fast charging performance relies on a specific power adapter. The phone can reach 50 percent charge in approximately 20 minutes, but only with a suitable power source. While many users may have a 20W adapter at home, Apple recommends its 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max output. That unit is priced at $34, down from $39. An alternative is the Anker 100W USB-C charger, which includes a five-foot cable and costs $29.

For those using the phone while driving, third-party mounts offer a solution. ESR produces a MagSafe car mount that attaches to air vents and holds the phone magnetically. The unit sells for $19, discounted from $29. This setup pairs with CarPlay to display maps on the vehicle's screen while the phone shows step-by-step directions. The larger display of the foldable device is expected to enhance this driving experience.

Case options vary by price and feature. Third-party makers offer the SPIDERCASE Magnetic Case with a built-in stand for $29. Spigen sells the Ultra Hybrid Pro, a clear MagSafe-compatible case, for $39. Apple offers its own options, including the iPhone Duo Case at $79 and the iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand at $129.

The device also updates StandBy mode for upright positioning. Users can view smart home accessories even when the phone is not charging. Two specific views, Home Camera and Home Modular, provide access to security systems. Recommended compatible hardware includes the Aqara G100 2K camera at $39 and a eufy 4K camera at $69. AirPods Pro 3 are also available for $199, down from $249, for users seeking improved audio features.
