The NFL, Apple Music, and Jay-Z announced on Monday that the rapper will perform the halftime show for Super Bowl LXI.
The game is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. This announcement follows Roc Nation’s recent five-year contract extension to produce halftime shows through 2029.
Roc Nation has managed the halftime production since 2019, a period that saw the lineup shift toward hip-hop and rap artists. The 2026 performance in Santa Clara featured Bad Bunny, with guests Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin. Previous Los Angeles shows, such as the 2022 event, featured Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar.
Jay-Z, a 25-time Grammy winner, has not previously performed at a Super Bowl halftime show. His current schedule includes the Jay-Z 30 Tour, which celebrates the 30th anniversary of his debut album, Reasonable Doubt, and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.
The tour began with three nights at Yankee Stadium in July. It continued with two shows in London and one in Paris during September. Jay-Z completed the tour on Oct. 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium, the same venue where he will perform in February 2027.
