Samsung plans to release the Galaxy W27 in China on October 29.
Leaker Ice Universe shared an image of the phone, showing a glossy blue back with gold accents around the triple-camera array. The device is scheduled to go on sale just six days after this report.
The W27 continues an annual tradition of launching exclusive foldables for the Chinese market. These models typically feature elaborate packaging and distinct styling. Historically, the W series has served as a rebranded version of Samsung's top foldable for that year.
For 2026, the specifications and design match the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra. This choice is notable because the standard Galaxy Z Fold 8 features a new shape that has gained traction with customers. The W27 instead builds on the Ultra model, which carries a price tag $1,000 higher than its standard counterpart.
Wide-format foldables are seeing increased adoption in China. Xiaomi recently released a device with a similar form factor, and Huawei has produced wide foldables for a longer period than any other manufacturer.
Samsung has stated that the Galaxy Z Fold 8 is selling well, partly due to attention generated by the iPhone Duo. Analysts predict foldable display shipments will rise by 44% in 2026 as these wide models arrive. The company has also updated several Galaxy devices to Android 17.
If the leaked date holds, the W27 will be the final foldable Samsung releases this year. Additional models are planned for next year.
