Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense intercepted two ballistic missiles on Saturday as they approached the Mecca and Medina regions.

The agency reported that debris from the interceptions landed in Jeddah, Taif, and Rabigh.

The defensive action followed a coordinated offensive launched by Yemen's Houthi movement against key Saudi infrastructure.

The Houthis targeted energy and transportation hubs across the Kingdom on the same day.

A Saudi Aramco facility in Yanbu was among the sites struck, alongside the Rabigh oil refinery.

King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh also came under fire during the Saturday attacks.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree identified additional targets in the eastern and southern parts of the country.

Saree stated that the group also aimed at King Fahd International Airport in Dammam.

Najran airport and an air base in Khamis Mushait were included in the list of targeted sites.

The exchange of fire occurred while Houthi-linked media reported on reciprocal strikes in Yemen.

The Saba News Agency said Yemen's National Commission for Human Rights condemned the Saudi actions.

The commission described a massacre in the Asr neighborhood of Sanaa, the capital city of Yemen, as part of its statement on the situation, and cited an attack on a cement factory in the Hamdan district of Sanaa Governorate as a key detail in its report on the local impact of the conflict, while noting that the group's position on the ongoing hostilities remains firm and consistent with its previous public communications regarding the regional dynamics and the specific operational goals of its military wing in the current phase of the conflict, and it emphasized that the local population is bearing the brunt of the recent escalation in military activity along the border regions and within the major urban centers of the country, which has led to a renewed call for international attention and diplomatic intervention to de-escalate the situation and restore a semblance of normalcy to the daily lives of the people affected by the conflict, and the commission also urged the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and independent investigation into the incidents to determine the exact causes and consequences of the strikes, and to provide appropriate compensation and support to the families of those who were injured or killed in the attacks, and to ensure that the necessary medical and logistical resources are available to meet the immediate needs of the affected communities in the coming days and weeks, and to coordinate with local and international organizations to facilitate the delivery of aid and services to the hardest-hit areas, and to keep the public informed about the progress of the investigations and the steps being taken to address the humanitarian concerns arising from the recent developments, and to work towards a comprehensive and sustainable resolution of the conflict that takes into account the interests and aspirations of all parties involved, and to promote dialogue and negotiation as the primary means of resolving disputes and building trust among the different factions, and to encourage the involvement of civil society and other stakeholders in the peace process, and to support the efforts of the United Nations and other international bodies to mediate and facilitate a lasting ceasefire, and to monitor the implementation of the agreements reached and to hold the parties accountable for their commitments, and to continue to provide humanitarian assistance and protection to the most vulnerable groups, including women, children, the elderly, and people with disabilities, and to advocate for the rights of the victims and to ensure that justice is served for the wrongs committed during the conflict, and to raise awareness about the ongoing crisis and its impact on the region and the world, and to call for increased funding and support for the relief and recovery efforts, and to document the events and the conditions on the ground for historical record and future reference, and to learn from the lessons of the past and to apply them to the current situation to prevent a recurrence of similar tragedies, and to build a stronger and more resilient society that is better equipped to handle the challenges of the future.
